How to get FREE groceries at grocery stores
There is a secret way to get free groceries at some grocery stores that many people forget about. Does your grocery store have a pharmacy in it? Mine does and I would venture to say that most of the major chains do.
Pharmaceuticals are big business and stores will offer lots of incentives to get your business. Some will offer coupons that only pharmacy customers get. Wegmans does this. And they are good coupons too. They are general coupons that apply to sections of the store instead of specific items or brands. Those are the best coupons because they can be stacked against other coupons.
Shoprite, however, goes one better. They have a prescription rewards program. For every 10 prescriptions filled at their pharmacy you get $10 off your next shopping order. Not too shabby! They only caveat is that your checkout total has to be at least $10 to redeem the coupon. In other words, you won't be given cash back in your order isn't as much as the coupon after all other coupons, discounts and taxes are applied. Not too shabby. I have already gotten hundreds of dollars of free groceries with this program.
Remember to check with your store to see what kind of promos they offer. It may benefit you to switch pharmacies. Of course, not all Shoprite stores offer this program and not all Wegmans may offer the coupons.
Some stores offer incentives to new customers but not so much for existing. It may be beneficial to get one or two prescriptions at a particular store with a good pharmacy promo for new customers and then switch to another one after you have redeemed the coupon. Nobody says that you have to stay at one pharmacy forever, no matter how friendly the pharmacist is.
